Words of Worth: How Believe Limited Transforms Primary Hyperoxaluria Patient Stories into Advocacy
Believe Limited partnered with Southern Word to produce Words of Worth, a storytelling workshop that equipped young primary hyperoxaluria patients with advocacy skills and produced compelling patient stories videos for the OHF community.
Storytelling Skills for Patient Advocacy
Words of Worth is a one-day workshop for young OHF community members focusing on developing vocabulary, confidence, and storytelling craft to help participants express experiences and tailor patient stories for maximum impact across any audience or objective. Youth participants explore emotions, voice questions, and share unmet needs related to primary hyperoxaluria while building fundamental advocacy skills and supportive community connections. The workshop culminates with participants sharing their storytelling work with the larger group, creating authentic peer connections. The program combined skill-building workshops produced by Believe and facilitated by Southern Word, with Believe producing authentic video storytelling for post-workshop release, creating lasting content that amplifies patient experiences and drives community awareness beyond the event itself.
